KNSC Program Descriptions

ActiveStart (U4-U5)

At the ActiveStart stage, the goal is to keep the children moving, active with a ball and develop a passion for the game of soccer with several touches on the ball. Teaching basic movements such as running, jumping, twisting, kicking, throwing and catching is key at this stage. A central focus is on the player with the ball, including running with the ball, dribbling, controlling, kicking and shooting.

(U6-U7) Early Development Program (EDP)- LTPD Stage: FUNdamentals

At the Early Development stage, we offer additional opportunities for skills development with qualified licensed coaches.

(U8) Player Development Program (PDP)- LTPD Stage: FUNdamentals

At the FUNdamentals stage, individual player development is paramount. We create and promote an environment that is fun and allows players to learn through exploration. The emphasis here is placed on the ABC’s of movement: agility, balance and co-ordination plus speed. Movement exercises/games are designed to get players several touches with the ball.

(U9-U12) Player Development Program (PDP)- LTPD Stage: Learn To Train

This is the “Golden Age of Learning” and an important time to teach basic principles of play and establish a solid training ethic. Coaches will emphasize repetitions, as they are important to develop technical excellence, but create a fun and challenging environment with activities and games to stimulate learning.

(13+) Competitive Program - LTPD Stage: Soccer for Life
The Soccer for Life Program provides an environment where players can develop technique, skill, creativity and game-understanding to their full potential. Long-term player development drives all coaching activities at KNSC and is thus core to the design of the Competitive Program.  Coaching programs are crafted to suit the specific needs of each age group, ensuring that all players are given the opportunity to maximize their potential in a supportive environment that matches their level of commitment and their stage of development. Complete soccer players are developed in the program through a holistic approach involving the four key aspects of athletic training: the technical, the psychological, the physical and the social.
We believe that long-term love of the game arises from the enthusiasm of coaches who foster the development of technique, skill, game sense and creativity. Soccer coaching encourages crucial life-skills, including teamwork, dedication, perseverance, discipline and hard work. The starting point for all soccer development is mastery of the ball.
