SUCCESS! Kleinburg Leo Club, Charity Book-Drive

Book Drive Poster Webcropped#KNSC - The Kleinburg Nobleton Soccer Club was proud to support the Kleinburg Leo Club with their first-annual Charity Book-Drive! During the month of February the Kleinburg Leo Club made a difference by collecting donated books and giving books to those in need. Because they received a variety of donated books rather than just children's books, they will be donating to both the leo-book-driveAboriginal children and teens through Books With No Bounds and the Kleinburg Public Library.

We at The Kleinburg Nobleton Soccer Club were honoured to have been asked to assist the Kleinburg Leo Club - a group of wonderful young adults making a difference in our community everyday!

Please visit their website or follow them on FB and Twitter: @kleinburgleos.

Here's just a sample of the many initiatives they have lined up for the next few months:

  • In April they will be joining their sponsoring Lions Club, Toronto Trillium Lions Club at Ryerson University and partnering with the Ryerson Campus Lions Club to host a business forum which will allow students at Ryerson University to learn how to network and speak with industry professionals.
  • They are also currently planning a fundraiser for the "Trees for Kleinburg" initiative, which will be carried out in April or May (details are pending).
  • In May they will be creating a team for the annual Orbis Plane Pull where teams gather and raise funds to see who can pull a 757 Cargo plane the fastest; funds are donated to Orbis which is a leading organization for saving eyesight.
  • In June they will be having their second annual yard sale fundraiser at the Kline House; funds that are gathered will be put towards the club budget for future events, such as their second annual Dodge4Diabetes event which will happen in September 2015. Last year's Dodge4Diabetes raised close to $3,000.00 for the Canadian Diabetes Association and had over 90 participants.
  • Finally in between May and June 2015 the Kleinburg Leo Club will be searching for a new Board of Directors, and so we will be looking for any interested young adults ages 18-30 to take on leadership roles within the club.
